Ahead of this December's GO Wipes Europe 2023, we caught up with expert speaker Per Brandberg, Senior Research Analyst at Euromonitor International.
Per is a senior research analyst with a focus on Tissue and hygiene. Based in London, he has more than 3 years of experience in the industry. Per advises clients on key trends, market movements, and new developments, delivering an understanding of the product categories as well as country specific insights.
Ahead of the conference in December, we asked him to share his knowledge and thoughts.
1. Can you give us a bit of insight into what your will sharing at the conference (without giving too much away!)
I will be looking at the overall state of the Wipes industry, how the different categories perform and what we can expect in the coming years. I’ll also look at how consumers lifestyles shift is driving innovation, and what that means for the products and new launches on the market.
2. What do you think will be the biggest challenge for the wipes and nonwovens industry in the coming 2-5 years?
The biggest challenge as I see it is to keep the momentum that was gained during the pandemic. Wipes became a staple in consumers lives, and it is up to the manufacturers to keep adding value in the products that align with the consumer demands to keep them buying the product and not turn to substitutes or reusable alternatives.
3. What do you see as some of the most interesting innovations in the market now?
There are a lot of interesting innovations, but I think some of the most fascinating ones are those that are related to flushability and the breakdown of wipes, looking at some of the new technologies that are being invented.
4. What are you most looking forward to at the event?
To hear different perspectives, from both manufacturers and the supply chain, to hear what different challenges and opportunities people are seeing within the industry.
