Ahead of this October's GO Wipes Europe 2024, we caught up with expert speaker Anna-Sophie Fischer, Project Manager LENZING™ Nonwoven Technology at Lenzing AG.
Anna-Sophie Fischer holds a bachelor degree in Environmental System Science from University of Graz and a master degree in Biotechnology from Wels University of Applied Science. She started her career in research on biofuels out of algae and then moved to EVER Pharma as a Product Specialist in R&D for 8 years. Since 2021 she works as Project Manager for LENZING™ Nonwoven Technology at Lenzing AG.
1) Can you give us a bit of insight into what your will sharing at the conference (without giving too much away!)
Lenzing AG built a pilot line to produce material named LENZING™ Nonwoven Technology (formerly known as LENZING™ Web Technology) to directly produce a nonwoven out of Lyocell dope. We now added the possibility to do test runs to produce a wet-laid composite by using the LENZING™ Nonwoven Technology Material and combine it with wet-laid pulp.
2. What is your biggest driver as a business today?
Our biggest driver is to reduce the amount of plastic in everyday products
3. What do you think will be the biggest challenge for the wipes and nonwovens industries in the coming 2-5 years?
Cooperation of industry and retailers to prevent unrealistic regulations from EU.
4. What do you see as some of the most interesting innovations in the market now?
To see that the combination of performance and sustainability is possible.
5. What are you most looking forward to at the event?
I’m looking forward to getting more insights in the different topics and solutions of all attendees, to exchange ideas and have interesting discussions on possibilities within the nonwoven industry.
